São Luís is one of those places that offer landscapes with views that make the visitor’s experience even more special. And the City Viewpoint is one of these privileged observation points, offering a 360° view of the Historic Center and the seaside region.
When going up to the 10th floor of the João Castelo Ribeiro Gonçalves Building (formerly Banco do Estado do Maranhão), located in the heart of the Historic Center at Rua do Egypt, n. 283, you will be greeted by a panoramic view that is simply unparalleled. But the City Viewpoint is more than just an experience of visual contemplation. Every two weeks, the place comes to life with popular dance workshops, cultural presentations and photographic exhibitions that make this place a meeting point with local culture.
The City Viewpoint, in addition to a 360° platform for photographic recordings, is accessible, with two elevators, audio guide and monitors throughout the experience, which lasts on average between 20 and 30 minutes.
Visiting this postcard of São Luís is suitable for all ages and is free. It operates from Thursday to Sunday, with different opening hours during holidays. To visit, you need to make an appointment in advance using the app.
